Onen i-Estel Edain
ever since i was young, i've been very very interested in things that have to do with knights in shinning armor. i am so into the medieval/middle ages where humans were still wearing full body armor, wielding swords and riding armored horses.
therefore, whenever i play any MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing games), i would always choose the characters like either warrior/knight/paladin. basically, as long as any close combat or melee character would be my first selection.
also, i have a fetish for two-handed swords. the larger the blade the better! i don't know why but i just love them. someday, if i get rich enough, i'm gonna buy all the swords and armors i could possible find and put them on display all over my house.
especially in "lord of the rings", aragon's swords, anduril, flame of the west, forged from the shards of narsil. what i love most the sword is the inscription on its replica. the inscription down the length of the blade on both sides is in the tolkien's language of Quenya, written in the runes of Eregion, thats says, "Nanye Anduril i ne Narsil i macil Eldendilo. Larcuvanten i mali Mordoreo". This translates to "I am Anduril who was Narsil, the sword of Elendil. Let the thralls of Mordor flee me".
it would be the first weapon i'm gonna get, i swear. i've been craving it for a long time now. you know what to do when my birthday comes this november. hahaha. i would even learn sword fighting if i have the chance.
oh, and not forgetting all the battle cries from "lord of the rings" which had such a huge impact on me. i felt myself so lifted when i was watching it in the theatres. its like all the bad feelings just go away at that time. the one i remembered the most was the scene when aragon and his allies was drawing out the whole of sauron's army out of mordor through the black gate of morannon. just before they charged onto the overwhelming enemies.
he said to his men, "sons of gordon! of rohan, my brothers. i see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. a day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. an hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! this day we fight! by all that you hold dear on this good earth, i bid you stand, men of west!"
i was captivated, even now.
if you're a big fan of "lord of the rings", you'll get what i mean.
so whenever there's a movie about medieval/middle ages, i'd never fail to watch it. well, some of my favourites would be of course "lord of the rings", "the messenger: story of joan of arc", "kingdom of heaven", "king arthur", "first knight", "a knight's tale" and etc.
therefore, i've decided to have a tattoo of a knight in full plate mail wielding a two-handed weapon kneeing down and thrusting his sword on the ground, with angel wings behind his back.
mummy, please allow me to have tattoos. please.....
